Adolescent Sport Assessment
Sport Assessments
Sport participation and injury rates in child and adolescent sport are high. There is a substantial body of evidence that potentially modifiable risk factors including poor cardiovascular endurance and/or muscular fitness and lack of well-designed training are important risk factors for injury in child and adolescent sport and an equally growing body of research supporting the effectiveness of sport-specific prevention strategies.
This assessment, conducted similarly to the Athlete Assessment, evaluate neuromuscular movement patterns, agility and coordination, core stabilization and balance, acceleration and speed, strength and power, endurance and flexibility to inform parents and athletes about the fundamental movement and training principles that make injury less likely and sport success more possible.
This assessment establishes baseline data related to your current fitness level and includes the following services:
- Pre-Assessment Consultation (with performance director)
The consultation reviews your health history, establishes fitness goals, and confirms specific issues of concern before testing begins. - Musculoskeletal Integrity (with physical therapist)
The examination addresses bones, joints, cartilage and muscles to ensure functional integrity of the body for the desired athletic performance.
Musculoskeletal Integrity Evaluation - Fitness Testing (with exercise physiologist)
Muscular Fitness
Aerobic Capacity (VO2 Max)
Lactate Threshold Analysis
Agility and Coordination
Anaerobic Power and Endurance
Cellular Health (Bioimpedance)
Electrocardiogram (ECG)
Spirometry (Lung Function)
- Post-Assessment Consultation (with performance director)
The consultation presents the results of the assessment and provides recommendations for injury prevention and training.
