Athlete Assessment
Sport Assessments
To succeed in competitive athletics, individuals must not only possess exceptional capacity in the health-related attributes of fitness (cellular health, aerobic capacity, flexibility, and muscular strength and endurance), they must possess exceptional capacity in performance-related attributes such as anaerobic power, agility, coordination, and reaction time, and be free of musculoskeletal imbalances.
The purpose of this assessment is to establish your athletic potential and establish baseline data for training intensity, volume, frequency, and rest, modified by a defined progression to guard against over¬training, one of the leading causes of injuries and impaired performance.
The assessment includes the following services:
- Pre-Assessment Consultation (with exercise physiologist)
The consultation reviews performance history, establishes performance goals, and confirms specific issues of concern before testing. - Musculoskeletal Assessment (with physical therapist or certified athletic trainer)
The examination addresses bones, joints, cartilage and muscles to ensure functional integrity of the body for the desired athletic performance. - Fitness Testing (with exercise physiologist)
Flexibility (Range of Motion)
Muscular Fitness
Aerobic Capacity (VO2 Max)
Blood Lactate (Threshold Analysis)
Anaerobic Power and Endurance
Agility & Coordination
Cellular Health (Bioimpedance)
Reaction Time - Post-Assessment Consultation (with exercise physiologist)
The consultation presents the results of the assessment and provides recommendations for injury prevention and training.
