Kossev Consortium
Bringing World Leading Applied Sciences and Technology to the Art of Rowing
The Kossev Consortium’s first foray into putting world-leading science and applied technology into the hands of coaches and rowers was a resounding success. The November 7th event held at the Cherry Hill Campus of Swedish Hospital in Seattle provided a terrific venue for lively discussion, exchange of information and learning. The crowd of about 60 attendees and presenters was diverse, representing seven universities, seven rowing clubs, two junior programs, three product manufacturers, and the US National Team and hailing from eight states and Canada.
The presenters provided in-depth, research-based evidence about approaches to the training and coaching questions that coaches struggle to answer.
The discussions at the event and the kick-off dinner the preceding evening have gone a long way to create a community of coaches and researchers willing to learn from each other and investigate ways to improve performance and enhance the sport – main objectives of the Kossev Consortium.
